Snoring
What is Snoring?
Snoring is the sound a person makes when their airway is obstructed and causes vibration of one's respiratory structures. Known the world over, Snoring is one of the most well-known and obvious signs that someone is not having a good night's sleep. Compounding that is the effect snoring has on a person's bed partner, which can be quite disturbing.
Is your throat weak? Is your jaw in the wrong position? Do you have fat deposits in or around your throat? Are your nasal passages obstructed in some way? Do you sleep on your back, on your side, or on your stomach? Are you morbidly obese or otherwise overweight?
How is Snoring treated?
Dr. Garg will investigate ways to help you clear your breathing passage. This could involve losing weight, smoking cessation, sleeping on your side, using nose clips, or lubricating sprays, special pillows or dental appliances. You may need to use a CPAP machine (continuous positive airway pressure). Or, you may need surgery in some cases.
